See Fish in Bright Color

Fish returns and bottom information are clearly shown on the unit's bright, sunlight-readable color display, making it easier for you to scope out your fishing grounds.

Whiteline Feature

The Fishfinder 160C can help you to determine if the bottom is hard or soft. When the sonar sound waves are reflected back by the bottom, a hard bottom returns a stronger signal than a soft bottom. A thin whiteline indicates a softer bottom while a thick whiteline indicates a harder bottom.

See-Thru Technology

Garmin's See-Thru technology shows weak and strong returns simultaneously, allowing the Fishfinder 160C to "see" through thermoclines and locate fish where they live (and fish love thermoclines).

Pinpoint Your Next Catch

Fishfinder 160C's included dual-beam transducer provides excellent shallow-water performance, and the wide viewing angle lets you see fish even off the sides of the boat. The 160C also offers Ultrascroll, which refreshes the screen with lightning speed so you always see the most up-to-date information. You can manually adjust the gain or set to Auto Gain, which adjusts the level of detail you see automatically.

Keep Alert

The 160C features alarms you can set for fish size, shallow water, deep water, and low battery, so you can stay on top of your game.

HDS Highest-Definition Broadband Fishfinding

Incredible and award-winning, exclusive Broadband Sounder digital technologies is now inside all HDS sonar models for the best Lowrance fishfinding ever! As the vital link between the transducer and your HDS display, Broadband is proven to find more fish with greater sensitivity, higher definition and more display clarity with superior target separation in all cover, in thermoclines and in all water conditions.

Less Noise, More Targets
With Lowrance Broadband digital signal processing software, noise goes way down and sensitivity goes way up. The result: Ultimate target discrimination with incredible high-definition separation of those distinctive Lowrance fish arch targets from structure and other fish!

Crystal-Clear Clarity
With advanced digital filtering, Broadband vastly improves at-a-glance display clarity, sharpens bottom images and paints a much cleaner picture of targets that others will miss or show poorly.

Greater Shallow-Water Coverage
To cover even more water, Broadband automatically adds 83 kHz operation to a Lowrance 200 kHz single-frequency transducer. At 83 kHz, you get full 120-degrees of wide-angle coverage with greatly enhanced definition of fish arch targets.

Incredible Deep-Water Performance
Broadband sounding is serious electronics when the hunt is on for fish in any deep water weather condition. Even at higher boat speeds, Broadband keeps a bottom lock at depth, with exceptional targeting of fish arches on the bottom, around wrecks and other seabed structure. And when used with a high-power transducer, strong bottom locks and water column detail reach down thousands of feet!

Expandability at No Extra Cost
For added value, HDS Broadband-equipped models can turn an HDS GPS Chartplotter (or GlobalMap chartplotter with yellow ethernet connector) into a powerful combination fishfinder/chartplotter with complete sonar graph control when networked by Lowrance Ethernetworks.

Lowrance HDS-5 Controls

Unique new FlyWheel scroll dial, as well as a bank of soft command keys.

Lowrance HDS-5 Sounder

Exclusive Broadband Sounder digital technology is now inside all HDS sonar models.

Detailed Mapping
The HDS-10 offers exceptionally detailed electronic charting thanks to its enhanced U.S. basemap, which delivers unprecedented inland mapping and coasting charting detail with lightning-fast screen display updates. Mapping coverage includes more than 100,000 bodies of water and nearly 5,000 enhanced U.S. lakes, all with highly detailed lake shorelines and contours. The high-resolution maps offer the look and feel of 3D viewing, and offer information on marked fishing areas, fisheries, and facilities. With enhanced HD maps, you can quickly find fish-holding areas, zoom in with exquisite detail, and easily avoid dangerous shallows.

Users can take their charting to the next level with other Insight HD maps and Navionics chart cards (sold separately), which fit inside the HDS-10's high-speed SD card slot. Navionics cards, for example, open up access to the world's largest "seamless" marine electronic chart database, with cards for diverse regions throughout the world.

The unit's Broadband Sounder offers incredible display clarity to help distinguish between fish and other targets.
Many of the charting cards come fully loaded with a wealth of fishing guidance detail, including expert fishing tips and techniques, and include ample memory space to record HDS sonar logs, screenshots, waypoints/routes/trails, and system settings without the need for an additional SD memory card. Within the maps, users can store up to 5,000 waypoints and 200 routes, in addition to plotting up to 10 trails with 12,000 points per trail.

Broadband Sounder Technology
Each HDS unit includes Lowrance's award-winning Broadband Sounder digital technology. As the vital link between the transducer and your HDS display, Broadband is proven to find more fish with greater sensitivity, higher definition, and more display clarity than ever before. With Lowrance's Broadband digital signal processing software, noise goes way down and sensitivity goes way up. The result: Ultimate target discrimination, helping the transducer separate fish from other underwater targets in all cover, in thermoclines, and in all water conditions.

The unit's advanced digital filtering also vastly improves at-a-glance display clarity while sharpening bottom images. By painting a much cleaner picture of targets, you see features that other fishfinders will show poorly or miss completely. To cover even more water, Broadband automatically adds 83 kHz operation to a 200 kHz single-frequency transducer. At 83 kHz, you receive a full 120 degrees of wide-angle coverage.

And Broadband sounding offers incredible deep-water performance. Even at high boat speeds, Broadband keeps a bottom lock at depth, with exceptional targeting of fish arches on the bottom, around wrecks, and within other seabed structures. When used with a high-power transducer, the strong bottom locks and water column detail reach down thousands of feet.

Other features include a unique FlyWheel dial and command soft keys that give you easier and quicker control of the Broadband Sounder and GPS navigation; an advanced pure-white LED screen/keypad backlighting that fully adjusts to zero dim for night vision; support for Sirius satellite weather and stereo-quality radio; and networking options for Ethernetworks and NMEA 2000. The HDS-10 carries a manufacturer's two-year limited warranty.
